- Various speakers urged us citizen, grassroots activists to keep up the good fight against King Coal, work to stop Montana coal exports to Asia, and make the transition away from coal to energy efficiency, wind and solar by the year 2050;
- Bull Mountain ranchers brought tears to our eyes as they told us why that area is worth fighting for;
- Powder River rancher Walter Archer was elected Chair of the Northern Plains Board of Directors;
- Steve Charter won the Mary Donohoe “Tell It Like It Is” Award, and Janet McMillan won the Bob Tully Spirit Award;
- Bids came fast and furious in the live and silent auctions, which featured a Clyde Aspevig original oil painting and Laurie Gano landscape tapestry;
- Instead of the traditional Theatre of the West, Northern Plains Jeopardy engaged veterans and newcomers alike in some of the the history of the organization.
By the way, Northern Plains has had field offices in Billings, Helena, Froid, Circle, Washington D.C., Glendive, Absarokee, and Miles City.
