Western Organization of Resource Councils
As we work to protect Montana's land, water, and quality of life, it is vital that we work across state boundaries and partner with farmers and ranchers throughout the west facing similar challenges.
To organize our regional power effectively, Northern Plains is a founding member of
the Western Organization of Resource Councils. WORC is an association of grassroots organizations throughout the West:
- Western Colorado Congress
- Dakota Resource Council (ND)
- Dakota Rural Action (SD)
- Powder River Basin Resource Council (WY)
- Idaho Rural Council, and
- Oregon Rural Action (OR)
These organizations include over 8,000 members and affiliated citizens’ groups in more than 42 communities throughout the region. By combining efforts with WORC, Northern Plains members can help shape policies to protect family agriculture and the environment in the West.
