You can call us at (406) 248-1154 and make a donation on your credit card.
Our organizing work depends on a small fleet of vehicles that carry our staff along the highways and ranch roads of rural Montana, through all kinds of weather. If you have a roadworthy car you are no longer using, please consider donating it to us! Because your car would be put to use instead of being sold, you would be able to deduct the car’s fair market value when you itemize your taxes.
If you are considering such a gift, contact Steve Paulson at the office: (406) 248-1154 or email email@example.com.
For many people, a gift of securities can be a good way to make a substantial donation at a lower cost. If you wish to make such a gift, please know that – when we receive the donation from a stockbroker – the information we receive may be incomplete… we may not even be able to find out who made the gift!
If you are planning to make a gift of securities, please contact us ahead of time and let us know about the type of securities and the number of shares you are donating. Contact Steve Paulson (406) 248-1154 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Or if you prefer, you can contact our broker to get the information you need to make your gift.
Our tax ID number: 81-0367205.
The IRS regards the date of your gift to be the date it comes into our possession (for transfers, the date it is transferred into our brokerage account).
Northern Plains has an endowment fund managed by our Investment Committee. Since its inception in 1988, this fund has enabled us to expand our program work, purchase and renovate Home on the Range, and generate revenue beyond our regular fundraising efforts.
Gifts to qualifying endowments carry added benefits for donors thanks to the recently extended Montana Qualified Endowment Credit. To learn more about Montana’s Qualified Endowment Tax Credit, please visit the Department of Revenue’s website or the Governor’s Task Force on Endowments and Philanthropy.
We encourage anyone who is interested to explore the many ways to leave a lasting gift with our organization to ensure your passion for protecting Montana lives on. In many cases, allocating a portion of an estate to a qualified charitable organization, like Northern Plains, reduces final tax obligations and leaves more assets to distribute to beneficiaries. Gift structures range from the very simple, such as designating us as beneficiary on a life insurance policy or a savings account to complex instruments such as Income for Life Annuities.
All potential donors should consult with an independent financial advisor prior to making any commitments.
